2023 Hyundai Santa Fe vs. 2023 Kia Sorento

There are plenty of things that you will praise about the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. Its budget-friendly base price is a plus considering that it is loaded with standard features. It also has plenty of passenger space inside.

In the case of the 2023 Kia Sorento, you will find the upscale interior great, and so is its long list of standard features. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and safe exit assist are now standard.

Design & Style

Inside the 2023 Santa Fe, you will find a luxuriously designed cabin. It uses leather upholstery as an addition to upper trims, with leather-wrapped steering wheel also an option in those models. At the back, there is plenty of space for cargo too. That area hits 36.4 cubic feet when all seats are in use, and 72.1 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. This ride accommodates up to five people, with promised comfort due to its seating support.

The Kia Sorento, just like the 2023 Santa Fe, is gifted with a modern interior, but when you try to take a look at all elements in the cabin, you will notice that hard plastics are scattered everywhere. At the back, you will not love the fact that it can only carry up to a few grocery bags with a basic opening that can carry up to 12.6 feet of cargo when all seats are in use. It can sit up to seven passengers, with the third row best left for kids.

Technology & Safety

One of the great things you will notice in the 2023 edition of the Santa Fe is its user-friendly infotainment system, whose functions are accessed via its eight-inch touch screen. It contains four USB ports, and an HD radio. Add to these, you will enjoy wireless editions for the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, starting from the base engine. When it comes to safety, it includes rearview camera, LED headlights with automatic high beams, forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, pedestrian detection, lane-following assist, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, safe-exit assist, rear-seat alert, and driver-attention monitoring.

The Sorento 2023 edition is fitted with an eight-inch touch screen, which like the Santa Fe, displays crisp graphics, but is better appreciated when the 10.30-inch version is used. It also uses wireless smartphone integration, has six speakers, six USB ports, and an HD radio. While it contains most of the driver aids standard to its Hyundai counterpart, it does not have LED headlights, and adaptive cruise control.

Performance

Under the hood of the base 2023 Santa Fe, it has a four-cylinder engine that hits up to 191 horsepower. The upgraded version scores up to 281 horsepower. The base engine for the Sorento also hits these same scores, but it is quite a dismay that the base engine does not live up to expectations for as three-seater SUV.

The Bottom Line

These two SUVs will definitely give what you expect when it comes to infotainment systems. Nonetheless, if you do not want to settle for less, it is best to give your nod to the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe.
